About the project

This web page presents information on the PM-II/SP/0067/2024/02 project entitled "Triateral comparisons of new digital impedance bridges designed for standard comparison" financed under the "Polish Metrology II" programme.

The main goal of the project is to increase the measurement capabilities of the Low Frequency Electrical Quantities Section (LWWEMC) at the Central Office of Measures (GUM) in the implementation of impedance standards by ensuring their measurement consistency in relation to the standard based on the DCQHR quantum Hall effect. This goal will be achieved by carrying out triateral comparisons of new generation fully digital impedance bridges that GUM, the Institute of Metrology, Electronics and Computer Science (IMEI) of the University of Zielona Góra (UZ) and the Department of Metrology, Electronics and Control (KMEiA) of the Silesian University of Technology (PŚl) will be equipped. Carrying out triateral comparisons requires devloping of a digital impedance bridge with calibrated voltage sources as part of the project at the UZ, the expansion and improvement of the bridges developed at GUM and KMEiA, as well as supplementing the set of standards by creating new sets of resistance and capacitance standards.

Comparisons of R, L, C standards are planned in the frequency range from 100 Hz to 10 kHz for various ratios of impedance moduli in the range from 1:1 to 10:1. The consistency of the comparison results obtained using three digital bridges will be analyzed. The analysis will take into account the measurement uncertainty of each bridge. The consistency of the results will be developed in accordance with the recommendations of the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17043 standard.
